Chronic Advance is a problem solving game where you create cycles to create infinite energy.

Controls:
Left-mouse: Drag barriers to position them
Space: Start/Reset stage (R to just reset)
ESC: Return to menu/Quit

Assets used that required attribution. All assets not included in this list are either attributed in the executable itself, created by myself, or in the public domain:

These credits would be included in the game in a potential post-jam release.

Known Issues:

  • The ball can get stuck in a generator gate. Slightly changing the angle at which it enters it can resolve it.
  • Records currently don't get saved (or not properly loaded, at least it doesn't work), they therefore only display the current session.
  • 2A: One of the gates launch at half speed
  • 2B: One of the gates do not generate energy (makes the level longer to count as completed than intended)

This is too short! I want a version with 20 levels, because this one is a lot of FUN!

Gameplay/ walkthrough:

Try messing around with levels to get really short or really long cycles, or try beating levels with less barriers/bounce, that can keep you busy for a while :) I kinda like going for really long cycles because they tend to have barriers in really odd positions, where you'd not think it'd work at a first glance. For example, this is a 31.4 second cycle of the first level: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR5xkyLL_D4

Hi really cool game with some really neat levels. I loved solving them, especially because it feels so rewarding when you've actually beat them. I hope you continue work on this, fix some of the bugs, add some more levels and maybe like a timer (which would be optional) so that you can speed run the levels because when i played this i really felt like this was a game id like to try and speedrun :D Anyways you should be really proud of your work, you've got a great game here! :)
